I've asked it before, no answer given, sorry for asking again. How much abot would a server require upload/downloadspeed from internet connection to host 10 players? Only answers to this question please, don't need to know anything else. I've heard its around 1mb up/16 players in source, but I figured cs in 2d would be alot different.

this has been asked before but I'm too lazy to search it. it depends on the game mode and Lua scripts.

the stats system of CS2D logs the traffic. take a look serverstats.html in your CS2D server root folder.
(you can also point at an hour-number to see the traffic of this hour)

Well according to the last time I asked this it was about 100GB's of bandwidth a month. NOt sure if that is mainstream or less used server though.

My friend has 400kbs connection and he can host only 10 players without lag

I've got better one, 10 running very well. I assume i could do 20 people on server without lag, if one can do 10 with 400kbs

keep in mind that the traffic increases nearly exponentially per player (because the server has to forward messages from each player to each other player, so we get a player² thing)

so you can't say that for example 800kbps is enough for 20 players if 400kbps is enough for 10 players
the math behind it is a bit more complicated.

True. But I'll have 2x better upspeed and a little better downspeed in a week, so should do no problem

e: ugh, i mean, im gonna get a better connection.
