Everyone im sorry im part of the other million threads that are about making a new server but its just too impossible

I looked at lots of youtube portforwarding videos, lots of google searches and forum searching but nothing worked

I will write down the steps I did

Everytime my server is always in Lan, is it supposed to be in lan? some people said since its your own local area network, yes. But others say no

1 - first I just clicked New Game and set sv_lan to 0 and tried usgn_add serverlist or whatever and I waited for almost 30 min and nobody joined.

2 - I downloaded dedicated server to see if it would work that time but nobody joined for a long time

3 - I whent to my Netgear settings (typed 192.168.1.1 in firefox) and forward my port

This is how I forward my port

          set to UDP
          first port - 36963
          end port - 36963
server lan ip - 192.168.1.2(this is my lan ip)

Then I did step #1 and #2 but nothing happened

4 - OK, now i disabled my firewall and did all the step but nobody joins

5 - I go into firewall and added a UDP port 36963 and did many crazy combinations of steps and waited for an hour but nobody joins.

Please help me and many other people who still cant host servers

I also tried asking cs2d players to connect to my server using IP but many of them could only speak Taiwan

Extra stuff you might want to know

My Lan IP - 192.168.1.2
My Outside IP - 203.105.92.61
Wireless Router - Net gear
Server name - The Amazing Race!

Ps:When I make a dedicated server it lookes like it always creates new port numbers?

UDP socket initialized using port 21307 <-- (this number always changes)
U.S.G.N. : Your game version is up to date
UDP socket initialized using port 36963 <--(initializes 2 ports???)
load map amazing_race_v1
blah blah

and Thanks for taking time reading this

that happens when the port is already in use. try another one and forward the other port, too

when you host a server its normal that the server is on LAN, too. couse you host it from your local network

ask a friend to look in the serverlist for your server.

looking from the same network is a bad idea and not recommended

How do you disabel Nat hole punching?

Ok I tried asking someone to join my external ip 203.105.92.61 at port 36963

I figured out that when someone tryed joining, dedicated server says

U.S.G.N. : NAT hole punch to 183.33.138.91:9414 (the ip and port of the player who tryed to join)

How do you disabel Nat hole punching?

Don't disable NAT hole punching. NAT hole punching is what is letting the players actually join in your case.

But if you are trying to make an actual dedicated server, online 24/7, don't even begin trying. You need a dedicated server environment such as a v-server to run it 24/7.

If you are just doing it for your friends, I would reccommend Hamachi, it's pretty darn easy just to create a server on one of the computers in your house, give the Hamachi address to all your best mates, and tell them to connect.

all I wanted to do is have my server visible in the serverlist so i dont have to tell my friends my ip address everytime.

I dont want a 24/7 server, I was just using dedicated to test stuff.

Many people just create server by clicking Start Server in cs2d but when I click it and do some configurations and start a server, nobody can see it or find it

What I noticed is I whent to whatsmyip.org and used a port scanner and check if the port 36963 was opened but it said it wasnt. Even though I forwarded port 36963 and opened it in firewall it said it wasnt open

NetGear routers are extremely hard to portforward, I know this because I use one myself. You are just going to have to give away your IP address. Sorry.

And thank you for actually searching and trying before portforwarding, you have literally made a precident to follow!

I just have to give away my IP address? what does that mean?
