Nope, it's not. It's VERY different from day dreaming. Day dreaming is when you basically just fuck off for a while in your head.

When you dream you cannot control them. When part of your brains start to "turn on" if you wish you can, but you are awake at the time, your eyes are just closed and you're not thinking of opening them.
But yes, the part you said about day dreaming is true.
