DC must update his code or something like that of the website which is a waste of time for him and is very unlikely he'll increase the space of friends list. Plus, he said somewhere in a thread (can't remember the name of it tho) that he said is better let the 50 friends space as the maximum amount. You can try do delete some friends who are always inactive or you don't like to be in your friends list, nevertheless.
That being said, I believe DC has the limit hard-coded into the site in some fashion, so it wouldn't be possible to extend it without DC actually changing it by hand.
I think I heard that Super Users have more space for this.
The Gajos: However that's not really true with what you said about Super Users. Their advantage is that they can upload a file 3 times bigger in their size file. That's only their advantage as a Super User. They don't have additional advantage like having more space in their friends list. At least, I don't think so. Friends has written

Nope, super users clearly doesnt have any advantage regarding the friendlist.
It wouldnt even make sense if super users get any profit except the bigger file size limit. (Maybe some f.a. moderation rights like deleting or moving files to the right category, but thats unlikely to happen)

It's about network stuff. The implementation is very simple and the network packet size limit doesn't allow me to simply increase the number further without changing some code.This has not a high priority for me so it's unlikely to be increased anytime soon. Maybe it won't be increased at all. Sorry.
(btw: This would require not just a U.S.G.N. masterserver upgrade but also a new CS2D and CC client)
