Well I've noticed that in stranded 2, there are many things you can't do in real life. Of course, there are many things you can do in real life. But have you noticed that the only thing you can do with bamboo is make bolts with it? Well I plan to make in Stranded II +1 an excessive amount of things to make with any item you can think of. I already have over 19 new objects in the process of making, such as glass, wheels, new houses, food, and many other things. I'm not much of a coder but I've been modelling in 3d (3ds, and it works with blitzbasic. yay!) for over 4 years, and I would really like to get this underway. I know that bizzl is making a german stranded 2 extension but I don't want to just make a copy of another mans hard work, for that would be plaigurism. (sp?)

GolemCC and I have to decided to combine our efforts to make Stranded II +1, as we both have talents in different fields of creating this mod.

So you there when we finish!

Maybe we should compile all the new basic general-purpose content into a single ginormous mod once it's done. I've got a whole bunch of stuff to build existing buildings, plus new structures, combos, weapons, and resources (tree sap, marble, etc.)
As you might expect, being able to make a map for your random island is really worth it.

Your ideas are all pretty spiffy. While I by no means want to impose ("Hey, let me take all your stuff, then use my stuff too!") I think it would be nice to have just a thoroughly expanded version of Stranded 2 everyone could sink their teeth into.

Excellent idea GolemCC! Instead of being 2 different mods, it could be a unofficial patch of sorts... I mean the more content the better.

PS I think my Marbles Item is called 'marbles' but if it's not I'll change it because it could conflict with a material called 'marble'.

I don't think a similar name is going to cause a problem, but if they have the same ID, it could.
I'll post a list of all the stuff I have tomorrow.

True for the names, and about the IDs...
My IDs are scattered all about because I'm too lazy to make em in a straight list. Just list me what IDs you're already using and I'll clean up the finished work so far, and so I'll stay away from those IDs in the future. I'm at school right now so I can't check my IDs but I know they're really messy at the moment.

Many items?
There already is a mod which extends Stranded II.
You could make some models and send them to bizzl. The mod isn't in English but all people who like this mod would be really happy

Just an idea, it would be nice of you if you could lend some objects but I can't force you of course

I am curious to see how the mod will be like. But can't you imagine a name with less likeness to the simple translation?
I wonder why that always is such a problem... see "Extension Mod" <-> "Extended Mod"

That is just the same concept as Bizzl's "Extension Mod" - which is, however, only available in German yet.

If there is someone who would have a bit time and has fun with translating then this very one person could make a english patch to S2Ext.
There are parts that could simply be taken from EC translation (strings.inf and keys.inf), but most has at least to be retranslated since several original files changed.
I myself don't have time to do that, blame it on my auditors and their stupid homework and my own lazyness...

The catch is, I'm incapable of making new models. I don't have... whatever program makes .b3d. So I'm trying to work within what the game provides, resized or recolored. But the icons and anything non-model-based is fair game.

Here's what I've got, completed as of now:
FEATURES:
*Randomly generated islands can now start with some things they previously might not (e.g. cacao trees, flora carnivora, sharks).
*Animals, important plants, ore deposits, seaweed, clams, starfish, etc. now respawn! I wasn't clear on the respawn methods before, but it was clear that even endless mode used very limited resources and it seemed you could get a 'dead' island pretty quickly. Every new day, one or more of any given important item will respawn if there aren't enough of them around. You won't run out of ore, bamboo, seaweed, sheep, cotton, lions, etc.
*Elixirs! Three unique items are spawned around the start of the game (in endless mode), which, when found and properly handled, yield the notes of an ancient inhabitant of the island, who found a way to distill its essence in three different forms. Once discovered, you too can brew these cryptic elixirs, which serve various purposes: for example, you can use them to synthesize some organic material, such as grapes (if your island has none, you can't get more, but with even a few you can start to multiply them). Or you can use them to build things you previously couldn't!
*Some basic resources last longer before depleting.
*New structures, recipes, resources, buildings, etc.

Buildings:
*Some buildings (mostly the torches and fences) now require less to build, so you can make more.
*Existing buildings which you can now build: Three types of bamboo hut, an ornate torch, 3 new types of fencing, and board walls.
*Standard buildings: A huge storage (250 KG!), enormous fence, a sap faucet (install in trees to collect treesap), and a bug catcher (generates insect parts, requires treesap).
*Ruins: Now you can build various ruins, including standing stones and rock ramps, building your way up to henge arches and full henge circles!
*Marble constructions: Marble floor, marble slate, marble cylinder, and marble column. (Requires marble)
*New special constructions using the Elixir of the Island: Various types of rock formations, a reservoir stone (for holding water when it rains), iron ore, gold veins, crystal deposits, and finally even a rock-hewn cave shelter are now buildable!
*New special constructions using the Elixir of Flora: Palms, trees, bamboo, berry bushes, banana and coconut palms, cacao and coffee trees, and gigantic trees (suitable for treehouses, for example) are now buildable!
*New special constructions using the Elixir of Fauna: Slimestone (generates lots of slime when it rains), Bitter Sprig (produces bitter root), Clam Mother (produces various sea items including clams, starfish, and pearls), and finally the Bone Tree and Sinew Bush, which grow bones and skin respectively are now buildable!

Tools and Resources:
*The new hackaxe tool can strip logs for bark or convert it to vine!
*Sap can now be harvested from trees to make a variety of things using a special faucet tap!
*Marble deposits can now be harvested to make marble buildings (bright stones -- a retexture would be better but I lack modeling tools). You'll need a special tool:
*The Blasting Cap, an expensive and unwieldy one-use weapon which requires bang fungus to produce is the only tool that can harvest hardened marble deposits. It's also good for demolition or clearing an area: destroying rocks, trees, and anything else with just one use!
*You can now make ink, which is useful for drawing and marking your map (once you make one).
*If you can find the base clockwork first, you can construct a gold pocketwatch for precise timekeeping!

Food and Weapons:
*Swords, broadswords, and crystal swords are now craftable!
*You can now wrap sushi, brew coffee, mix seafood dishes, fry starfish, bake cookies, and more.
*If you find the parts first (and have a LOT of spare iron) you can make a pistol, and even forge bullets for it (but not very efficiently).
*Eating large pieces of meat sometimes yields bone.
*Bone bolts and arrows can now be crafted! They require a much more limited resource but are especially sharp and dangerous.

That's about it for now, unless I'm forgetting anything. Still more to come.

Why should one build ruins or single pillars? Unless there are tourists to attract...
The hackaxe tool and the bone arrows are good ideas.

Wow, that's a lott of stuff GolemCC! Excellent! And about how you can't model them in .b3d, you really don't have to. Every single model I've made so far is .3ds (anim8or rules!), and they've worked fine. I mean both games are using the blitzbasic engine so I gace it a try. And GolemCC, you can get a program called anim8or, it's a really easy program to use, but kind of hard to learn. Just send me the ingame icons or a quick sketch and I'll model it in .3ds if you want.

Just for show, I guess. I like making my camps look nice. Although the low-level rubble structures are good markers early on because they're so cheap to build, plus if there's a cluster of fruit trees you could make a rubble ramp in between them to make it easier to pick their fruit. Personally I just use the sling, but a friend of mine prefers this method, so it's always up to you.

And thanks for the advice on modelling, I'll see what I can do.

Argh! I found one big problem with .3ds when I was making a chicken... I can't animate them! I can export animations, but they can't be packed with the .3ds model, they have to be stand-alone. Any ideas how to help me out?

Question about Anim8or:
How would I go about getting exported models with textures to work properly in conjunction with Stranded II?

I didn't even know we could make objects to work on StrandedII with Anim8or.
Edit: Saw the previous post. The program isn't hard to learn, in fact, it's easier than any other. Just try out the Tutorials to get sharpen enough.

Thanks largely to help from Ringwall, I've started modelling and skinning some of my new creations. Here's a taste.

Wow, excellent work GolemCC! That is a very interesting object, one I'm sure to use in the future.

Well I've never had any screens yet, so here's a couple of the items so far (and to prove I'm not lying about making all of this xD)

Tools and a Sausage

Food
IMG:https://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i8/Ringwall/munchables.jpg

Some of the other finished food items were a bit too large and need to be resized, so they aren't in the picture as of now )

@E_net4
Well If someone is as stupid as I was and didn't read the manuals it's kinda hard to figure out yourself.
