old CS2D Shuts Computer Down

Hi, some games that doesn't meet my system capabilities (like Medieval II, C&C3, etc.) shuts my laptop down, i have i feeling that it does happen because of my CPU overload (needs more RAM) or because of my graphics card. I have 512 mb RAM, Windows XP Home Edition and ATI x600 64 mb graphics card. The weird thing is, that CS2D does shut down my computer too. What's the problem and what could be the solution?

Nah, there must be something wrong w/ your laptop like one of your settings is wrong or something because my computer is much much worse than yours (Pentium 2 196MB RAM) and I've never been unintentionally shut down by CS2D (or anything else for that matter)

Virus scan and if that doesn't help well idk I'd have to be in front of your computer and like mess w/ your control panel and stuff and after a while i'd probably eventually figure it out

old Lap-top battery.

Lap-tops usually use battery, and when the battery has exceeded it goes power off. So that's probably one solution of your question. Recharge the battery, lolz.

Maybe your computer can't handle resolution changes...?

Lolz, xD!
Resolution changes are just known to put the color rate lower, etc. And this usually happens with old computers, I have a old computer but it doesn't change color when resolution is changed.

color rate
a fullscreen app can change the resolution, the color depth and the frequency of the monitor. and of course this can lead to problems with the graphics card or monitor.
trying the windowed mode (start the bat file) could help.

I know about as much about computer technical problems as Future Shop does; but I know I've encountered some problems with the monitor screwing up when I go to a fullscreen. But that was always a hz problem so whatever.

(This is what DC said but making more sense)

Go to your CS2D folder and run CS2D -windowed.bat (it will have an icon that looks like a window with a big gear in it)

lol, it might depend on what windows u have, like in the 9X series, its just a blank window, in vista, it looks more like a console

I'm sorry for the bad english but I hope it didn't sound too bad.

I just don't know computer so well, and I just say something that could relate to or not relate to just that it might sound close enough so you might understand it. But I'm known to make words up, lol when I'm really bored. So I'm sorry for saying color rate.

I can't really tell more things about that thing, "CS2D Shuts Computer Down" since I have already said one thing and I'm sticking with it I think.
