Let me try to explain that:

If you are posting in a thread which has been lying around for weeks and none really cares about the topic and you post your opinion which really doesn't matter anymore, it is really annoying.

But if you want to say something in the topic which is important you may revive the topic.

Example:
Someone had a problem with his graphic card and the problem was solved in the thread. Now there are no answers for 4 weeks.

If you want to post something like: "I have the same problem as xy but the solution given in this thread doesn't work!" it is okay.
If you say "I could have told you that you will have trouble. Graphic cards of the vendor x usually suck." it is senseless and consideres as spam

skiper: Maybe they say it's flame because you make hundreds of threads for almost the same topic (comics, videos etc). That's not good either.
