I tried to work with 3ds max for like 5 times, not a time with succeding making a model of a chiken 
All you can see here is anorganic form and it's not so difficult
About your tries. I suggest you to start again with the tutorials, so was my first experiences. I left modding Stranded for month or two and in that time I was just modeling. Packet of cigarettes, a pair fo compasses (like this one http://user.tninet.se/~hun806h/rcron31.jpg,) LCD monitor etc. There are really a lot of tutorials in any language. Don't give it up

I'm really trying to make them as low-poly as possible. And I can say that I have reeeealy fucking slow machine and thet models of mine works fine. Only that big wheel i a bit laging
It is 450 kb large, quite a lot for a model....
