I'm trying to refresh my very rusty modelling skills
by making some objects for S2, and my current effort is with bottles.

I have a 2 texture sample in 3ds format.
1 texture is a single layer .png image, with no
background layer and the alpha channel set to
0xF7F7F7 and the layer is solid red.
the result is that when in the editor the green
ghost object that is displayed while initially
place an item, shows the transpancey,
but once the object it's solid (opaque) in
appearance.

I would appreciate some help, I'd like to make a series
of liquid filled bottles, and won't be able to until I can
get transparnecy to work correctly.

Stranded II uses texture flags for such stuff. Every texture which uses an alpha channel has to have an "_a" in its filename. have a look at the existing textures and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

thank you for answering.
Since i'm using deld to convert from b3d, I haven't been
able to make that connection, since it can't extract most
textures or any materials.

Edit:
That fixed the problem
Now maybe my sanity will return.

anyone happen to know of a simple (and free) way to
get the textures incorporated into b3d files?
