I got lots of, that make me ALMOST cried, it's "I'm Legend" and "Eight Below".
They got both sad part and ending, the one that make me almost cried is Eight Below.

oh, yeah you right. how could i forget. roach and ghost are burned...and actually im not sad. Ghost was an retard, some rebirth of gaz or something.
But i can remember that most of the marines surive, which is good, but still not realistic.
He just does that to get all the dudes of the agency toghether and then kills them all with just 2 ballers

I don't think that "I am legend" has a sad ending, even though the main character dies, he accomplished his mission (he found the cure that was in his blood)
I know that I can be wrong, but it's interesting how some people find it sad (like you, some of my friends, etc) and others can find it as an acceptable ending where the main character sacrifices himself fighting for what they want. Ie: The story of Joan of Arc, Braveheart, etc.
And the end of "I am Legend" is sad too!!!

the ending is much simpler
Sephiroth dies and Cloud kills him
happy ending!
And the endings in which main guy dies are considered sad
and also Live A Live (another Jrpg) there are two sad endings
one is in which you defeat the good guys with the bad guy (never end) and another is in which you kill the bad guy with the good guys (another never end)
