Creating a list of the smartest animals is impossible, since their intelligence can't be tested well enough.

Surprisingly, you are wrong. Despite the fact that we evolved like that, we just got our chance. Fish could have evolved and built their own civilization, where dolphins would rule and sharks would do all the work (my thoughts are weird sometimes
)For me, my favorite animals are guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mouses - all these, cause they're CEWT
And cats I guess. I like them cause they're very calm, independent and smart.

After all they are man's best friends and are so active and cool.
I like almost all types of (non-insect) animals, including cats, but dogs are way better - I can give you the reasons if you want.
My favourite non-domestic animals has got to be the lion (better than cats xD) and Wolves.
Wanna know what's even more epic?
Wolfdogs!
There are lots of types, but my favourite one is the German Sheppard-wolf hybrid (as shown in image). Two awesome animals combined in one. I'd looove to have one in my house *.*
What is also almost as epic as the above hybrid is the even more rare:
Ligers
Lion + Tiger
There are also Tigons, but are EVEN more rare and are has huge as this counterpart.
Also (wow, I'm repeating "also" so many times :/) there are Li-Ligers and Ti-Tigers (Lions + Ligers and Tigers + Ligers, respectively).

Animals use their brain all of the times (as long as they're alive of course), just like us.
