Lua can actually access the local file system and read/write or delete files! it can even execute programs.
also people could add backdoors using Lua script, allowing them to remote control your server via chat messages etc.
so you should always read scripts first or download them from trustworthy sources (e.g. from the file archive when they already have a good rating from many people and have not been edited since then)

that's the point.your complete VPS can only be controlled with malicious Lua scripts if you are running CS2D with root rights (as root user). you shouldn't do this anyway.

the only problem is that people have to be dumb enough to download and run the Lua script on their server without looking at it at all.
I didn't hear about any problems with this either. but it is possible. keep that in mind when using scripts made by others.
