I have recently heard about falling asteroids that hit Russia which actually hurt people. There's also other places where the asteroids have fallen down to, so I've now decided to open this topic as a way to discuss asteroids and the dangers behind the asteroid (or the likes).

Why? well it's not everyday that asteroids hits earth, so when it comes to these incoming asteroids that might cause public harm worldwide. I believe it's public knowledge to let people know about this.

I have linked to a NASA stream below. If you have any comments regarding these socalled typical events, just feel free to post.

> NASA stream

The meteorite impact area was Chelyabinsk, Russia.
I would be worried if that would happen in my area. But yeah this is proclaimed to be a rare event, so I guess it won't have a high chance of happening again. Even though it can happen at any time. It's a international problem. Why? because this type of event could happen anywhere on the earth, so I believe we should be somewhat careful what we decide to do in our lives. Try to evade meteorite blast areas. Lol, just saying.

I have some footage of the DA14 asteroid from the Unity 3D game engine down below.

Maybe I mean "Oh my fantastic God" ? (but no.. , I'm not religious)

Anyway, end of the World can be in every hour and minute (even now) but I don't think so If that Meteor in Russia have more sharper angle, it will be not melt so fast and it even can hit in the city

Asteroids actually hit the Earth more than you think.

Asteroids don't hit Earth. Meteors do.

Meteorites

ontopic: OMfG !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meteoroid

Meteorites are pieces of Meteors that survive an impact with the ground. Meteors are Meteoroids that enter the Earth's atmosphere.

Meteorite =/= Meteor
Meteor =/= Meteoroid

Get your facts straight.

I'll just call them rocks

There's like thousands of names for objects in space. They don't necessarily have to be rocks. Some meteoroids are actually as small as a grain of sand..

Call them space debris to be entirely sure.

DA14 asteroid should have passed by now.
It has probably done so.

@user DevGru: If that is true, then we have ~17 years left to live.

This is great software to detect new asteroids, so I will leave a link below to the software from NASA. I ran it and it seems to be coded in C# using the Unity 3D game engine. Enjoy!

This caused it, ahah.
Jokes aside, big number of injured, no deaths. Call the massive luck.

Imagine if it had hit a nuclear power plant...

Yes.. So? Funny as fuck, anything else?

Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking it would be funny.
