Poland is twice stronger than before, after getting destroyed in ww2, you think they will just sit and watch. As one guy said, romania got good land forces. Germany has advanced technology, why would so many countries buy their tanks including Finland. Germany showed their power ww1 and ww2 and maybe they will surprise us again?

I think that the romanian army is better than the dutch army.

The Dutch have got some serious shit going on actually. Sadly the last few years they started dimming down the money towards defense

If anything happens and Holland gets involved, I'm off back to England. I don't trust a country which only had one tank as their defense. In fact, I'm pretty sure they just sold everything two years back.

I prefer this list:
http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-listing-europe.asp

It does much more than just see who has the biggest and the meanest armies. Geographical location, border length, water ways, produce and all sorts are taken into account.

Turkey should be at least in TOP 3 since they managed to shoot down a Russian (!) bomber.

UPD: 3.12.2015: As if I was serious with that statement.

While many good things can be said about the Turkish military, I don't think its downing of the Russian bomber would be a fair assessment of its power. Shooting down a lone bomber outside of friendly territory and away from friendly forces requires more nerve than military prowess.

@user StirlizZ-Fapicon: Ehh.. ordinary Rusek. Russia doesn't belong to Europe so much. Anyway yeah, Russia is better than Germany but only if you mean mass of people otherwise germany are better technologically. Don't insult Poland because you don't know how it really is. We are strong right now.

Respect Poland, we didn't kill people when we defeat them. This is the reason why we are ridiculed. Did you hear about the Polish Hussars (They didn't lost any battle for 125 years)? They was able to fu*k up Russians but we didn't do that. We didn't use our power because we were friendly.

1.   United Kingdom (Germans)
2.   France (Roms)
3.   Germany (Germans)
4.   Italy (Roms)
5.   Poland (Slavs)
6.   Ukraine (Slavs)
7.   Czech Republic (Slavs)
8.   Switzerland (Germans)
9.   Austria (Germans)
10. Netherlands (Germans)
11. Spain (Roms)
12. Denmark (Germans)
13. Belarus (Slavs)
14. Belgium (Germans)
15. Romania (Roms)
16. Portugal (Roms)
17. Hungary (Ugro-Finns)
18. Greece (Hellenes)
19. Slovakia (Slavs)
20. Croatia (Slavs)
21. Bulgaria (Slavs)
22. Serbia (Slavs)
23. Latvia (Balts)
24. Bosnia and Herzegovina (Slavs)
25. Lithuania (Balts)
26. Slovenia (Slavs)
27. Albania (Thracian-Illyrian group)
28. Estonia (Ugro-Finns)

Yes, I like to group countries in the European nations.

@user StirlizZ-Fapicon:
For starters, we're talking about the present. Which means what happened during and post second world war has nothing to do with our current discussion.
Secondly, mentioning what happened in the past by having the image of "My country is superior" will get you the image of an asshole instead.
Moreover, I think cows don't exist. It's just horses in disguise. I didn't provide any facts to back it up just like you didn't but I'm going to assume just saying this will prove that cows are in fact not real. Moo.
Finally, I'd like you to edit your post as I think many poles would find it offensive. I find it offensive, they probably too.

@user Black Wolf: I think it would be more correct to back it up since we all can say whatever we want and it would technically fit in here. It's just not adequate.

I know my country has been increasing it's Military strength but I don't really think it's all that worth it. I guess it COULD last until help from NATO arrives but other than that.

@user Gaios: Hate to be cocky but you should replace the word "Roms" with "Latin peoples" or just Romance peoples instead. That word has not a real significant whatsoever (or either someone can confuse it with another thing), at least I do think so. Aside from this, I'd go same with others about the military of Germany regard its technology. That's my opinion anyway.

You are using net and these rankings made by some people. Its like how they said Finns were really weak but they kept Soviets back in ww2, so it doesnt really tell much. I didnt count Russia and Turkey and even if i did Russia wouldnt be in my top1, why? They are not as strong as it looks like, they got a lot of weapons, mostly old ones. Turkey would be atleast top5 for me.

These lists cant tell much, its about people, how they fight. You didnt expect Vietan to defeat US, you didnt expect Chechnya to defeat Russia etc etc.

So now tell your own opinions.

Pff. One can simply find a shot-down Russian bomber in a shop with shot-down Russian bombers.

France? Owned in 1941, also at 2015.
A successful act of terrorism doesn't mean a country is owned. That was...stupid.

is not really topic-related.

And finally, my humble opinion is that the top countries on the list should be ones that own nuclear weapon, so Russia, Great Britain and France for sure.

Russia is one of the powerful countries but now most powerful. No, Russia is not all Europe. Half of the Russia is in Europe. Russia is not part of EU or any other European organization. Russia got better relationships in Asia aswell.
