what happened to force scaling? i was able to play the game fullscreen with my 1280x1024 monitor but now its like this

Because gameplay is 16:9 ratio now, basically if you would like to disable borders, you would lose some of the field of view.
In upcoming release there will be option for 4:3 ratio screens, however as I told you that would lead to disadvantage.
