I'm translating the extension mod into english.The work is being done when I have time from work and life in general. I'm about halfway through the sys folder in translating from german to english but I need some help in other areas.

a)How do I change the text on the start up and options screen?

b)How do I open s2s files in case I need to alter text in them.

c)As soon as I have an alpha version of the translation ready I'll post it here. Can anyone recommend a good approved file host that won't delete the file after x number of downloads?

original file from Stranded II - english Version; used in translation of my own mod too (there are no differences between-only language ...).

to b: use editor funktion in game and let u show all scripts from map (no one says it would be easy...)

to c: dont use the uploader that i use for sending u a file (File-Upload) the files will be deleted after a couple of days without download (bad thing)

try out some files that i have released related to my mod(on first 2 or 3 pages of thread to my mod in german forum) the most of the files will be deleted, but NOT by me.
The age of the files is/was between 3 and 5 month...

well, even 3 month is a pretty long time for an upload to stay available and you further said yorself that it will only be deleted after this period of time if no one downloaded the file, so the solutution would be to download it yourself every few month to keep it available.

(sorry that we have to talk in english here, I know you're no friend of this language... )

Wow, brilliant minds think alike. I have been working on translating this as well. This version is Ext 0.2.6 with the Forge (Schmieden) add-on.

I was not planning on translating adventure mode unless someone tells me its substantially different than the core game or Massive Mods version. I focused on Random Maps - with the first 5 options (Easy,Medium, Hard, Mountain, Random Stats) versions translated.

There are still a few sections I am working on such as units, edibles, and the forge addon buildings, but most of it is up and working and its definitely playable in english. I will continue to upload new versions as I complete the translation work in the next couple of weeks and clean up some of my bad translations as I play more.

Nobility - let me know if you have stuff translated that I do not and we can merge our files for faster completion Hopefully down the road we can work with Mc Leaf to get his changelists so we can keep the english version alive as well!


Update: Version 2 is now up. Translated edibles, mining system, process translations, and a bunch of text fixes. Still to go - new forge text and units.

To update from version 1 simply backup your save file sand just replace these files with your old ones.

Ok - I finished up this week. This should be all the visible text. I could not find out where the skill list from the character tab gets translated although once you click one I translated all the detailed information.

The focus here was on Random Mode. I did not translate Adventure mode or any of the single Island maps running scripts. I will continue to tweak and improve some of the translations as I play. It seems like a great mod so far.

Wow, nice work! But 93MB is a pretty big download for an S2 mod. So I stripped out the modding tools and the screenshots and left it with the working back end. Then I managed to get it down to 61MB using 7z compression. If you want, I can send you it so you can give people a quicker DL.

Edit: BTW, thanks! You helped me find a bug in my mod viewer whereby I was reading all files for descriptions instead of just infs.

This may be caused by "Umlaute" like "ä, ö, ü". If you want to correct it, you have to rename the files (model and icon) in the gfx/mining system folder and the pathes and names, which can be found in objects_mining_system.inf in the sys folder.

This is related to the ID-system. The problem with the inverntory also appears in the german version of the mod, the other problems are fixed there, yet.
