I think it's too hard first open 3DS max model, view, screenshot it, and etc. It's don't work if you make skin on own concept or if you make skin from old game. But place where you make shading and scaling sprite very useful for all who need make the own awesome works.

I only use functions that paint can do, though.

paint.NET is just a lot easier with the changing/choosing of colours and the pixel grid helps a lot, and also the possibility too zoom in to something like 5000%.

Me too but I have to use it 'cause I have no other skinning program.

I preffer pixel by pixel method, I feel better making I with my own hands instead using a lot of tools. I just use paint.net because it has a nice interface and more zoom than ms paint ( lol).
