"Helping" is ok, but we aren't here to tell you the whole game...

so I'm sorry if you've already covered it. it must get annoying for you answering the same question SO many times..
I'm trying to get a parrot for the pirate.
the nest is fine, but the parrots will not re-spawn.
my island has no monkeys on it either.
I've waited days and days for them to come back...
but they haven't.
what am i doing wrong?
and what can i do about this??

It might be that there is actually still a parrot near it and got caught in a tree somehow due to a collission error. Then there won't spawn any new parrots.
But if you can't see anything, it's probably better to load an old game when there were still parrots (or restart, if you do not have one). Better than chopping down all trees nearby because of a sheer suspect, at least.

and does animals keep balance or do they keep respawning?
Use a long range weapon, like a slingshot, to kill it.
Also there is a max for each animal spawn, so there will never be an over population of animals.

They will be around where the other rocks are. You can use a branch and bark to start a fire, if you can't find them.
