I don`t quite understand what you are looking for..

But with sprites, paint the background black and use mask 3 6 or 9 (I don`t remember which one of those).

Thanks.

are you talking about gfx/buildings.png?
it is a PNG file not a bmp file. it has an alpha channel. do you see pink backgrounds in the original image? certainly not! you have to use a tool which can handle images with alpha channels if you want to edit this file.

awww man.. you did not understand what I just said eh?

you need to use a tool which can handle images with alpha channels/transparent backgrounds because we are talking about a PNG file with alpha channel here.

this is impossible with paint!

you have to use programs like gimp or photoshop

Just open the original file in gimp and edit it. And DONT save it as bmp ,because bmp don't support transparency and the filename must be exact the same afaik. But png support that.
Purple is like transparency at the bmp fileformat

btw: Why do you edit something in cs2d when you don't know anything about png/bmp?

The Env_Image and Env_Sprite entities have different kinds of alpha channels. Env_Image uses Purple (not Pink) alpha channel while Env_Sprite uses black as alpha channel.

I think I got solution for your problem mortyr22. Open the gfx/buildings.png with GIMP or Adobe Photoshop and don't change anything but alpha channel to something like black/white then I guess you could flatten the image and remove the alpha channel temporarily and then you could edit the buildings.png, so afterwards you could add a alpha channel again and make it black (and then color it purple). I do that when I edit graphics in cs2d works best.

Basicly all you need to change is the pink to purple since there is a color difference. I'd recommend using Env_Image with those purple (I still don't think it's Pink) background images. This is the color code for the correct alpha for Env_Image : ©255000255 (Purple)

Pink (is not transparent in CS2D)

Purple (is transparent in CS2D)

"Pink is a pale red color"-Wiki Pink. CS2D nearly uses Psychedelic Purple infact it does. Although the color code for it is ©221000255. Slight difference but still pretty equal.

Simple. Using GIMP or Adobe Photoshop they are image editing programmes that can handle pictures/images/animations anything like that.

You must probably learn from a GIMP/Adobe Photoshop tutorial on how to use those programmes first if you don't know how to edit photos.

A nice tip:
Open the original file in gimp and click on that:

When you did it, you can't paint transparency things...

Some drawing libraries (or most of them) use the color 255000255 (pink) as transparent when working with image files that don't support alpha channel. It's not just CS2D.

... You can do this easily in paint.
All you have to do is get that one tool that picks up the color of one part and use it on the purple/pink background! Or you can open two paint windows and then use the rectangular tool to copy+paste the purple/pink background from an untampered file into the tampered file. Then, you can just use the tool that picks up colors from there and do whatever.
These things are simplest in paint! I use it for cs2d sprites because they're so small... haven't used the wonders of GIMP on the things yet. >.>
