as far as i figured out the english stranded aint that popular as in Germany. The german section is far more active then the english one. Actually i am reading the both the german and the english board several times a day, and i am sure that others are doing this as well.

on this forum the situation is not so bad, on the forum where I am moderator there is a tragic (the largest and most popular forum for Stranded in Poland, yeah ... we have the 3-5 active members, for week no one wrote any post, admin silent for 4 months ), this game is not very popular outside of Germany

It's becoming a cult or hobbyist thing to play and modify stranded II, but there are many of us out there who still work on various projects (I currently have the mod viewer and a good array of about 30 models with a gingerbread house on the way) and I'm sure there are many more that just come to browse for mods and leave after getting what they wanted without saying anything.

But that's all fine. I know the German section is more active and even though in England, the game isn't well known, it looks like it's gonna be around for a while. While it is, I'll be here too.

The best etiquette for this would be to:
1: at least get the mod to a playable state. Lots of people put up their 'ideas' for a mod and then lose interest, leaving expectant people with another let down. It's shows you're dedicated when you bring your work.

2: start your own thread with the title as the name of your mod and present your idea and download link to the playable mod (even if it is still incomplete). This way, you keep all discussion of your mod from spilling over into other threads, keeping this place clean for the mods and members.

3: get some feedback from the people who test your mod to see if they find any bugs, have any ideas or have any questions they want to ask. It will make your mod appear alive, help you diagnose and resolve problems (with the help of the great US.de community) and will possibly give you some good ideas for directions of the future.

Feel free to message me if you need any help. I'm making a habit of guiding people through modding. Notice I said "guiding". I'll show you the path, but you gotta walk it.

1. I have been making a mod before, but i stopped to do it. The reason was that there were no downloads at all. So i believe that this time someone will download it. If not, then development will be continued, but it will be not showed to people.
2. There is other way to present your mod-in-progress other than in new topic?
3. For having feedback, peolpe need to want play my mod. Not sure, ifthey really want.

Right now i only changed game.inf and buildings materials to make it more realistic.

btw, thank you for so big reply. It is good to know that comunity take care of you)
