@ slimK: "People still use" does not mean everyone should adapt to what the minority wants. Get over it.
Is not about adapt but to offer both aspect ratios, people choose what is best to use.

Who plays 640*480 fullscreen
What time is this now, 1998?
What time is this now, 1998?
I played it all the time and still. And will. Sucks windowed mode lead to click on the desktop with small chance. It's harder to aim in windowed mode. I don't need to give a fck about notifications, time or any other icons on my desktop while using fullscreen.
By that you simply said "Idc about players such as you." -Thanks.
/btw since i can run 640x480 in fullscreen atm it's okay >:D

Yes I've read that post but what kind of unfair things you're talking about? You can see more with a 16:9 resolution?
And the part "hell technically" can you give reasons? Most of the games use both aspect ratios so why cs2d don't use too?
In CS2D it totally matters how much you see.
And yes, in a 16:9 resolution you do see more because the screen is wider. So you can see more on the left and right side and you would have a big disadvantage with 4:3.
Unless you scale the game down in 4:3 so the same number of tiles fits the screen in a 4:3 resolution. This makes it fair but it results in borders. This is how CS2D does it now.
@ DC:
There are many bugs that make this new version UNUSABLE
for example:
I checked there are still many bugs with the new resolution, you see one thing but game is thinking in other way.
This can be easily checked with "mark own player" where it's 4 or 5 tiles to the left of your center.
And this is also with flares and grenades, making it 1000% harder to throw a GOOD flare or grenade. (You point at something and it goes tiles away)
That's from resolution.
Now recoil system is super not balanced and unusable at the moment at competitive.
This includes:
Super mega burst mode for glock. I mean the DPS Of it.. hell its super fast 20 bullets with super good accuracy. and it was already for short range, so it needs something new, a remake or it's old speed.
Scope weapons were already op.
But now they have the best accuracy and are not affected by recoil and its even better to have a scout than pistols or m4 ak.
I dont care much about this since i can always ban those but they are even more OP.
First step is as @ mrc: said delete the crosshair of those weapons, there's a scope for a reason.
Recoil was already difficult, now you just CANT even run because it affects in a huge way.
M4 and AK recoil is ok. But pistols, they are too difficult now, i know its difficult because they shoot might shoot faster now but they were already fast. Just check it without recoil, non stop.
for some reason they have a huge recoil now, decrease it.
There might be more bugs like that of resolution so check them before releasing it because its a hell of problems
EDIT:Not sure if its a bug but seems like an unintended change.
Now weapons that used to get "absorbed" by walls in NO RENDER3D
in 3d they are upper than the walls of de_cs2d_new for example
We know that dynamic recoil is not properly balanced yet. That's why it will be disabled by default. It's experimental. Same for 3D.
Pistols are good at close distance. You can shoot quite frequently by pressing mouse, but it loses accuracy as hell. It might be a little bit too fast though.
Sub-machine-guns are a little bit more accurate than pistols, but if you hold fire too long, they lose accuracy.
Machine-guns - quite accurate for a longer fire.
Running/walking does not affect much. Also can depend on each weapon. Some weapons are worse when running than others.
I don't really see much of "unbalanced" weapons.
Of course, it needs more testing and more time in gameplay. Anyone who wants to contribute in building that second system as competitive can contact me.
