The Stranded II source code is now available for free under a Creative Commons license
( http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/de/deed.en )
You are allowed to modify and share it. However you are NOT allowed to use it in commercial projects without my permission.
You need Blitz 3D to use it (which is freeware since August 2014)! - get it at www.blitzbasic.com
I recommend Blitz 3D 1.98 or newer
You also need Stranded II of course
The code does NOT work with the Blitz 3D Demo!
Additional notes:
The code is based on Stranded II version 1.0.0.1 with some minimal changes. Untested.
I didn't clean up the code in any way and released it as it is. There are some empty and unused source files.
The code contains a userlib (for copy and paste functions)
The comments in the code are English (NOT German as the the comments in cs2d 0.1.0.0)

My life is happy, I'm going to learn Blitz scripting language ;)!!
New version of "Kidnap mod" I'm sorry to everyone who asked me for permission to use my stuff by PMs, I hadn't been online for a long time. Anyone can use it without permission

Gah, sounds like i better start downloading blitz...
just wondering, what is the syntax on blitz like?
Edit:
I can read the .bb files just fine, so i assume Blitz is just for compiling?

DC has written:

conclusion: It's the SII source code. However you need Blitz 3D to compile it. Of course it is NOT the source code of Blitz 3D...

read the included readme or my first post in this thread. BOTH clearly say that you CAN'T compile it with the demo. sorry about that.

If it's under the GPL, that automatically means anyone may use it in commercial projects, as long as they are under the GPL as well. Look into Creative Commons licenses.

Is Blitz 3D as easy or easier than C#? If it's similar I'll probably get Blitz 3D and see if I can work on this a bit. I can't really be dedicated to it, but I'd love to see if I can make some additions to it.

Now someone could make Stranded export detailed logs into a text file - it would help modders such as myself - I can't find a bug (memory access violation, probably something to do with object/unit/item ID on random map generation) and I'd love to see a log that tells me which objects were already created! Cheers!

Hi, Im trying to get my head around the source, is it OK to ask some questions regarding the source (Dont worry I wont require any in-depth analysis, just general simple questions ;))?
On a side note, where can I get the latest CS2D source code?
Lastly, thanks for opensourcing your games, Im very grateful, its a great way to learn, hopefully I can contribute to the source with some new features or help with the source upkeep in the future

cs2d is NOT open source anymore. at least the latest version. you can only get the source of cs2d 0.1.0.0. (which is pretty old).
Ah, no problems. I was interested in the client/server part with a mind to creating a multiplay S2 mod... maybe the old CS2D source could help.
Is it OK to ask some questions? I promise I wont bombard the forum with lots of questions
