I am making a mod hopefully with the following weapons;

To keep you informed on the progress there is a √ next to the completed guns...

Assault Rifles:
L85A2 (30 clip mag.)√
M4A1 (30 clip mag.)
AK47 (30 clip mag.)√

LMG's:
M249 SAW (200 clip mag.)
L86 LSW (100 clip mag.)
RPD (100 clip mag.)

Shotguns:
L128A1 is the UK's name-M1014 is the US's name
(7 rounds)
AA-12 (need to play CoDmw2 to find the mag count)

SMG's:
MP5 (30 clip mag.)
Ump 45 (25 clip mag.)
AK47u (30 clip mag.)

Snipers:
AS50 (semi automatic .50cal)√
L115A3 (bolt action sniper magnum)

Pistols:
Anaconda Colt .500 (magnum)√
L9A1 (Browning high power)

Anti-tank:
RPG-7 (reloadable)√
AT4-S (fire and forget)

I cannot garantee all of these but probably 1 of each...

But i also want them to be held up like in most fps games.
I have seen a few mods on google vids with hands and weapons shown. If it is possable, please post a link with a mod the shows the weapon held up in a reply.

I will edit this when I have got a good name for the mod.
It may be called "MODern Combat mod"

I will say, this has been attempted a fair few times by other people, so you're gonna have to be dedicated to long term development of this. This ain't gonna be a quick job. However. there may be many models out there already that you can use with the author's permission. I have a fairly high poly Anaconda Colt 500 Pistol model you can use in my Models thread. someone evil, thanks fot the script it is kinda what i ment. But i doubt i would use it if there is another way.
It has helped alot though. I can make cross hairs for the sniper sight and other things like red dot sight. thanks dude.

p.s. Psytechnic can you help a bit and make a L9A1 model plz. L9A1 is the Brownig high power. I think i have my work cut out with this mod and that will help alot. I don't mind if you don't make it, but thanks anyway.

I am a determined perfectionist but also a minimalist, which in the case of model making, collide in a bad way. I want to keep the model as simple as possible so the model file is small, however, the detail of a gun is geometric and any detail done by texture usually stands out as looking cheap and tacky. To overcome this clash, I'm using box modelling to maintain geometric detail without having to make each individual part of the gun model.

If I do create this model for you, you have to understand that it will be a single model, not constructed in parts like the Anaconda, but it will be high detail in terms of geometry, so the file size will be moderate (aiming for around 200k or less) and the detail will be very high (so expect quite a few polys and verts). I can try to make a low poly version, replacing some detail with textures, but this will substantially affect the overall look. Also, because I will be going to great lengths to create the detail, this may take me a week or so mainly because I have quite a few projects on the go at the moment and by a few, I mean:
1: Rewriting the SIIMV file reading system to make it 50%+ faster. Around 60% of the re-write is done.
2: Models. I have a birdcage model I need to finish and I have some unit models I need to animate.
3: Learning Android programming. I have a new phone with Android 2.1 on it. I have read that android programming is quite simple (given its linux origins) and it uses a java-based language. You can use the Eclipse IDE with the Android plugin to develop Android apps, so I'm definitely gonna get into that!
Yeah, I got quite a bit going on, but if I commit to this, then I will work on it as much as I do with my other projects.

If you are OK with all of this, then let me know (preferably by on-site message because I notice it more than new threads) and I'll start as soon as I get the message.

I have made L85A2, AK47 and RPG-7 so far, aswell as grenades and under slung grenade launchers. That is hopefully some progress for the mod. There may be an adventure mode where you have a choice of 3 factions - USA, UK, Insurgents and 3 uniqe missions for them.

I don't mean to overload you with your work so take your time. There will be a thankyou message to you in the loading creadits and in the readme and if i am bothered to put credits at the end it will be there to.

Dude i have to focus on my GCSE's and i am also focusing on the mod. Yeah not much so far but my bro has found out a lot of scripts like hostiles that fire guns and move. I will get milkshape soon so i can make units because anim8or can't make units for stranded; either that or i am noobish at it.

I will edit this soon and put pics up.
