I'm using quite a lot of stuff thought.
But primary might be Magix Music Maker.
About sound making, it's quite difficult and a lot to explain.
Probably, you should start reading tutorials.

I did some stuff during summer.
These are not full songs. In other words, just Demos.
First one is cover and another song is written by me, but just half of it's length.

So, that's some old performance by Blazzingxx.

Very much agreed with the girls part, got my first date like that

But back to topic, if you don;t wanna spend too much cash, try out Audacity, and Ardour, they are both great. But if you want to record music ( like guitar solos etc ) u will need an interface device, like the CakewalkUA-1G, which I have about 20 cms away from my elbow as i type this. It's an excelent device. If you do not own a guitar/piano/whatever music instrument u want in ur song, try using Rose garden. Btw, all of these apps are Linux based ( except Audacity, which u can use on Windows ). If you don;t mind paying a little, use Reaper for ur audio needs. It's a great DAW ( Digital Audio Workstation ). But so is Ardour. So yeah. Choose your way to go.
