2 replies please can you tell me what engine u used to make this game i am looking forward to make hl 2D or something different & can you tell me how to mod this game especialy creating models. sorry for my misspelling i am from serbia 
I think DC used BlitzMax for cs2d. Anyway, i don't think you're even going to be able to create anything like cs2d, so forget it.
You can mod the game by using Lua scripts. I've been a programmer for a while now so the advice im going to give you is this:
if you want to make a simple game (something 2d and arcadish) use game maker.
otherwise if you want to make an advanced game use the unreal engine.
