just study math and you will see

You know, 9/9 is 9 divided by 9. Which equals 1 anyways.

10/10 equals 1.

x/x equals 1. Always.

Now see, you're doing it wrong. He says 0.999~ = 1. He's not right. 0.999~ ≈ 1, since you also can't say 5.412839781 = 5.4, it's 5.412839781 ≈ 5.4.

give me a x/y=0.(9)
and you don't absolutely know math

You don't get it, do you? You don't even NEED to round. There's no need at all for it. 0.99999 (period) = 1. No need to round. It's exactly the same.

ohaz just close this topic because the problem is already solved. Every person who doesn't know math will never get this this, so it is useless to explain anything to them.

How about 8.9999.... ?

8.999999999999999 = 9
and any (x).999999999999 = x+1

I think You wrong
0.(9) isn't 1

try this: with 5 characters "9"
a = 0.99999
10a = 10x0.99999 = 9.9999

10a-a = 9a = 9.9999-0.99999 = 8.99991 ( it's different from 9)

a= 9a/9 = 0.99999 (only 0.99999)

so we can write
a=0.99999...
10=9.9999...

10a-a = 9a = 9.9999...-0.99999 = 8.99...991
a = 9a/9 = 0.99999...

so 0.(9) isn't 1

0.9 and 0.99999~ are way too different and one cannot be used to prove the other.

omg the point of infinty is that it is infinite. u can't say if we use 0.99999 then 0.(9) will have same result because if u multiply 0.(9) by 10 u will get 9.(9) which still has infinte amount of 9s. thus this prove works with infinite amont of numbers because if u have finite amount of numbers after multiplying by 10 u will get different amount of digits after the dot while u have same amount of digits when u use infinity because u still get infinite amount of digits after multiplication ROFL that is long finalising answer. If someone still doesn't get it, I will rage quit this forum for a week lol.

okay I know infinities mean *forever* but they don't regenerate themselves so.

.9~ =X
Y= the amount of 9s behind the decimal point in X.
9.9~ =10X but now when you try to match up the 9s behind the decimal point it doesn't work becuase this doesn't work:

(Y-1)=Y

Even though there are infinitie 9s behind the decimal point they won't *regenerate* after you take one away.
So if you believe that .9~ =1
then you believe:
(Y-1)=Y

Passed eighth grade math yet? Thought not.

If Y = infinite, then Y-1 is not possible. Operating standard arithmetic on infinite isn't possible, so your attempt is one little splat in a universe of proof. You can't count to infinite. It's not a number. Same as true chaos.

infinity is not a some superhero from dota -.-' there is no need for regeneration of something that is already everything

I'm not calling you a kid. I'm calling you incompetent with mathematics.

Thats why you shouldn't use decimals in math, but these numbers like 3/3 or 2/3... They are more accurate, and you can see the value straight. Not saying that decimals are useless, but 3/3 is just more accurate.
