Never say anything about age. It only shows that you are not mature enough to understand that age does not matter. Fun thing is that you are younger than me.
Tools, tools, tools... what the hell is the meaning of pixel-art now? Using some random tool for making shading automatically, or gradient, whatever the hell you guys use, for a simple 96x96 skin?
@ Mechanolith: Aren't the brush and the pencil tools? Also you can adjust contrast and brightness, all my skins are made pixel by pixel. And paint's.net interface is way more comfortable than paint's one

No problem, i just think people who abuse these tools like shading, noise and light effects or use Photoshop for simple pixel-arts are stupidly not skilled enough to upload skins...
I make my skins with Paint.NET, but I only use it for the zoom/grid function. Also, unlike many skinners I know I make mine almost completely from scratch, meaning that I only have an image next to the one I'M drawing for the details. Then I usually start by making an outline, then outlining the bigger parts, colouring in the single parts in a basic color, and then I do the shading. It usually takes me ~1-2 hours for one skin, mainly because of the usually extreme sizes they tend to end up to have.
