We are paying around 31 dollars for 40 Mbit/s internet and 100 channel digital TV. Well, also, phone services, but it's a bit different with them.

I actually got a 1MB connection, phone service and no technical support... that's... awesome.

You mean Mb or MB?
Mb = megabit = 128 kilobytes/sec
MB = megabyte = 1024 megabytes/sec

For around 40 bucks you can get the same TV plan as I have (max + you can buy even more channels) and a whopping 150 megabit connection

That's the max speed my ISP offers.

It's not fake. Most likely your internet/firewall settings are limiting connection, or you are just living far away from the server the connection got tested on. It's one of the most reliable sites, don't blame anything on it.

Download speed =450kb/s
Upload =0.1 kb/s

Using routers? I don't know much about how internet works but most of my problems were solved when i took out that router and started using the modem only.
