This doesn't mean that you can't play it in a competitive way though. It still is a competitive game by definition because there are (in most modes) two teams which fight against each other and skill does matter. There are also mechanics for "pro" tactics and gameplay like the whole fog of war thing.

All this butthurt from Happytown fags. I can guarantee none of you know how CS2D even got popular back toward the 0104 days. I bet you guys don't even have proper anti-cheats and your servers and filled with retards speedhacking.
This.
We give you a chance to play this game decently with high quality servers, international tournaments and an anti-cheat.Why are you guys always being pessimistic?
If you think you are too unskilful for it go play in your happy town instead of talking shit here.

I wrote Facebook and USGN announcements for the ESL CS2D 1on1 tournament. I also implemented features requested by the ESL team. I'm doing my best to support the competitive scene and all other CS2D related projects if they are worth it.
Death to everyone who now starts with topics like lag compensation, recoil etc. again. This has been discussed and I'm aware of it and it shouldn't be discussed in this thread.

If you want support more start to upload the profissional mappack (like de_nuke, de_train,etc...) in next update. Helps a little.
And in future a new gamemode (auto-mix) with 5n5 script, is a good idea but this is not the ideia topic about the next version. I just give a suggestion.

I think what would help most is if new players get more aware of the pcs project.
Looking at cs2d.com's link section, there are like so many links to dead sites.
The pcs project has been going for years now, it's big and active.

DC: Is there a way you could implement somewhere the streaming channels so that someone can access them from official US.de website or cs2d.com? Like in LoL, livestreaming direct link.

u should do stuff like knife and m3 tournaments which will definitely attract lots of players and get them to know about competitive cs2d

well death to me then
ya i know you're probably gonna tell me for the 10th to stop talking about it cuz you know and stuff, but seriously what are we to do about it? it's been more than two years...
most people have nothing valuable to say about the lc issue, but i hope at least this post will let more people know the state of things

One of my aims is to keep the frustration level low for new players so the game is attractive to them.
well then you should realize how frustrating it is for new players to aim on someone and have your bullets not hit even though blood is being splattered everywhere. and this isn't just limited to competitive cs2d. in any type of game that involves shooting at other people, having lc would significantly improve the gameplay. and my lc script is often not sufficient because of lua compatibility issues (which i can't do anything about). even in standard gamemode where there are less compatibility issues, having native lc would improve the game by giving proper hitsounds
lol, this.

Maybe you should focus on the competitive scene more audaciously - I'm not sure if you patrol your own servers anymore but the game seems to be upheld by the more mature/competitive community in CS2D.
Not to be critical or anything, but you'll find that the majority of players who play the non-standard servers such as happytown, zombies, etc... are <13 years old and have no real understanding of the game and its mechanics.
As AkC, Defect and fld have mentioned - the game has been upheld by the PCS/competitive community for years. We have paid for three-quarters of the dedicated servers you see on your serverlist and we are the ones who are actively trying to improve the game in terms of activity and enjoyment.
tl;dr? Listen to your long time players - We're trying to better the game and make it more active.
If you need examples and ideas feel free to reply to this, DC. We're here to help for the better and future.

Negative and you didn´t pass in 1st round in esl league, very funny I guess.

I just love how kids post something "on-topic" which is always bullshit just not to be banned.
This looks really stupid, when will you get it?

I suggest you to learn English.
I have no idea why do you put "PCS, pro leagues n shit" everywhere. This game won't be "Überpro", atleast not now. And please, don't use sentence: „You hazs no skillz ahahaha, you sux go back to hAppY T0wn.“
If you want to show your skills, go and get original Counter Strike and don't post something, that won't have usage here.

Those who say that are wrong, that's not the correct ideal to encourage someone trying something new.
Want to tell you, do you play for example LoL? Well you are not competitive i suppose, but dont you like watching sometimes livestreams of professional teams? Every game, EVERY, has competition. If we try to grow it in CS2D, why you are so pessimistic? Yes, what we do in PCS is professional enough for CS2D. I consider a cup (a serious one) a real competition. Even if you dont win anything, you fight for your glory, your ambitions.
Will also tell you: i played sometimes HappyTown for example, it's cool for some mins, but i dont understand how someone can play it like, hours. There's no point, no start, no main, no finish. Ok, you may have friends and have fun there. But why not trying something new? Like, being in a clan that plays wars, or whose goals is to become a top team. Also individually.
In servers like happytown, zombie mode and so on, you surely have the dose of fun you want per day, but personally i would get so much bored after a week of constant play there.
Why not trying new emotions? Believe me, i play this game since 4 years and from the start, even if i had fun in pub servers as a newbie, was always looking those players, better than me, being in clans and playing wars. It was a motivation for me to improve myself.
Simple fun can be ok, but when you can have a long term project/goal isnt more fun?
CS2D can have competition. CS2DBR and PCS are a live example.

DC: Well, to be honest we, the players from PCS-Project, keep up the game mostly. We made it into ESL, and you "just" wrote links to it via USGN. If you really want to keep up this game, you have to bring something new.

slimK: said a script like in CS:GO would be nice.
You press a button and the game searchs for players that are ready for a 5n5. THIS would bring more fun to everybody.
Winners should earn ranks or smth like this. Newcomers will understand the game more fast and can get better easily so there won't be a dead 2D-Pro Scene.
May you support PCS-Project and put it onto your website (cs2d.com;usgn.de) to let it grow some more. It is already very big but we always need fresh blood there.

DC you actually didn't do anything when it came to CS2D making it into ESL as a tournament other than making a few posts and whatnot. It was the members of PCS who talked to the admins of ESL and got it all happening. Not trying to talk you down or attack you but it's the truth man, you haven't done anything for competitive CS2D since CS2D Max other than the smoke block update which took how many years?
Everyone butthurt in this thread saying 'CS2D won't ever be competitive or be pro' are the people who fail to see the time and effort spent by all these competitive clans currently playing under PCS and the 2Dpro. Reality is one comment from a literal noob isn't going to change much as compared to what supporting a competitive scene would.
Plus, you don't know what I've invested for the second season of the league. I'm still considering prize money and actual rewards because of the dedication that everyone's shown. It may not begin as a lot but as soon as word gets out and small-based sponsorships occur then yeah, the game could get big.
You guys look through eye-sight whereas we look through mind-sight.
