not only windows 7 is compatible with photoshop, as i mentioned before try downloading a older version than CS5+ use photoshop 7 it's more than enough for a beginner like you. and Photoshop 7 runs at windows XP.
and you also dont need the latest version of paint.net if it doesnt run at windows XP, use a different then.

btw it runs at every standard windows version

so use Paint.NET when you want a free software, but be limited in many things, or use PS7 when you have money for it, but it's pointless to buy photoshop when you only need it for cs2d.

Anyway, if you ask for an illegal download link instead of buying Photoshop, I guess you're not going to do any professional job. GIMP and Paint .NET is all you need.
And - they're free.
