DC: DC it called Quick Play lol

Is death truly a bad thing? If it is, then why do we all get to experience it? And... Why does it take so long? - What is the meaning of death?
@
DC: I fully agree with your idea, this will be a breakthrough. Thus there will always be a full Standard server.

I do care about the standard game mode as I've just proven with the latest update (new fog of war modes, update for silenced weapons, ...)
Please look on date of my post, it was before the latest update, which had some new features for competetitve community.
About that compromise - it would be very exciting for us (as i speak for mainly PCS Project - competetive/standard community). Our main servers (PCS Aim, PCS dust2 and PCS Mix) are up 24/7 and there are always some people playing in it. PCS Mix has competetive mixmatches in it all the time, even now there are 14/16 people playing there as we speak.
Here are ips of these 3 servers :
PCS Aim 188.68.238.66:36962
PCS dust2 188.68.238.66:36963
PCS Mix 185.12.178.251:36969 - this server has a password in it "match", but we could solve this problem out.
There are probably few other standard servers from other hosters, which i do not remember at this hour.
These servers which i've posted are mostly for European players. So for other parts of our world we would need an info from people like mrc. And as mrc wrote, there would be always a full or almost full sv in South America and Europe for sure.
edit : I've just thought about all these scripted servers that work in Standard mode, but are not standard servers anyway. Servers like doghouse or HC Fun have also about 10+ people playing in it, so would quickplay connect them to such servers? And if yes, how we can avoid it if it would be supposed to connect people to "true standard" servers? I think that we should maintain an "intern serverlist" just as DC said.

And maybe on these severs :
can you create a simple antycheat , which will ban players with radar hack , aimbot etc. ?
DC is your choice / godwill . Many peolple want to play on "clear" server without cheaters.
Milriko has written:

+1 for the quick play, you can add 3 options:
Play a competitive match (pcs mix), casual (pcs dust2) or training mode (pcs aim). Should be funny to see that

"Nothing to fear and nothing to doubt."
South Americans are supported by CS2DBR, Europeans by PCS, and North Americans by CS2DBR & PCS. The competitive scenario is coming back, CS2DBR and PCS are working hard for it. By the way, some Standard servers must be filtered, for example, awp_greys and etc. Oh, I have an idea! What about if Quick Start looks forward to CS2DBR's and PCS's servers only? As you know, those communities are the only ones active for ~10 years each. Nobody better than us to support players in our region. In this way, CS2DBR and PCS will grow and the competitive scenario will be back. South Americans will connect to CS2DBR's, Europeans to PCS's and North Americans to CS2DBR's or PCS's (depending on latency and players amount). CS2DBR + Unreal Sofware & PCS + Unreal Software can be partners.

Milriko: Yes, Lua is an issue. Even standard game mode servers can run crazy Lua mods. I already thought about it and that's why I was also considering a community maintained little list for the quick play feature.
Another possibility would be to only allow vanilla servers without ANY Lua as quick play servers but I don't think that this is a good idea because it's a bit too strict probably. I mean most people also use Lua for admin scripts and other little stuff which doesn't affect gameplay at all so it wouldn't make sense to exclude such servers. Unfortunately there is no rock solid automated way to detect what Lua scripts are actually doing. The used hooks can be a good indicator but it's still not a good idea.

Look for servers with an added server option to show they are actual standard servers (for example sv_iamtruelyastandardserverandnothingelse = 1). If this doesn't turn out to be the case, blacklist those bitches.
Seems fair enough. No need to list PCS and CS2DBR servers only as if they truly are the best ones people will be sent there with the quick play anyway.

Yates: Exactly.
Or either code a limited lua API for these type of servers.
I think that a "manual maintained static" serverlist is the worst thing that could be done.

This is a good idea, just like they are doing in mmorpgs. When the game starts dying it goes F2P, then there's a big slump in interest and servers become half empty. So they make less servers, everyone happy

I have a great idea for a compromise:
I'll add something like a "quick start" button to CS2D and it will work this way:
• internally fetch the serverlist and ping all servers
• select all which are running Standard game mode (we may also consider to maintain a separate list of servers for this somehow)
• from those select one which has a reasonable amount of players and a reasonable ping.
• If it fails: Let the player decide if he wants to host his own game or if he wants to search for a game manually in the serverlist (or try again).

Sounds good

They delete worlds because of the economy stats, suddenly a wooden sword which is sold by players for 20 gold goes for 200 billion which is great for like 2 minutes then you realise you can buy the whole game which is boring. That's why most mmo's die quickly because of bad economy maintenance or unbalanced loot.
Idk what everyone is talking about but I think DC should just stop on cs2d and instead make csgo 2d or something, more competetive, no stupid ass lua's like happy town and all that.
