Hello boys,

long time ago since I played CS:2D. I am out of info and have no idea about the curret situation in Counter Strike 2D. Is CS:2D really dying? arent we good enough anymore to beat the other F2P Games? is there even a chance to stop the inactivity and when yes, tell me how?!

Since one week I am thinking about the question "is there even a chance to stop the inactivity in 2D". Try to answer this question with good arguments.

Friendly regards,
kch

In my opinion, it's time to release or at least develop the next version. But user DC is a busy person, so nothing else to say.

It's pretty much dead at this point. People come here for what they are promised to get, but all they find is shitty, modded servers. Those being Happy Towns, roleplay, Tibia, Minecraft, Slenderman, you name them.
From the new people that come, the only ones that do stay are mostly Brazilian kids.

As I said in the German thread, people still play the game.
Though, it's not the same old CS2D as we want it, as Cheetz said, a lot of kids are hosting terrible servers with terrible scripts and terrible maps. And for some reason, these kids just won't get tired of them.

So basically, CS2D is still alive, but Counter-Strike's spirit got raped and it's identity has been stripped away. You could consider it child abuse, as the game is still in beta too. What a horrible fate.

Again, if you want more players, tell your friends, relatives, etc., it's pretty much all you can do.

Now that was the most brilliant answer that I have read in the past few weeks.

I was also thinking about the Beta version turning into gold, but it would make the impression that DC would work less on the gold version since it would be the gold version. However, I wish more competition aswell.

Are there any statistics from the past few years up to today, how many players play the game daily? I mean if there are always more players in overall, then it is a success to DC. Only because the "competitive" scene is inactive, there could still be more activity in general. I wonder if that is so.

Well polish peoples playing still , yesterday on my server was 20/32 peoples for 4-5 hours fact is that zombie server but for example on standart dust or dust2 still playing ass well. Obviously we have less players than 2-3 years ago.

Even if he dedicate his work to make CS2D into Gold version or not, the future is really far for CS2D to reach the Gold version.

Anyway I agree with user Seekay & user KimKart. Usually kids mostly want modded servers but still there are few players who dedicate to competitive scene, like user Milriko. Not forget some of those modded servers are really bad moderated.

Counter-Strike 2D into Gold version. That's mean without updates? That will be nail in the coffin. It seems to me that only regular updates like in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can increase the activity of players.

CS2D will still have updates with the Gold version but the version would be considered as "finished". Only small updates would result usually, but I do not know what it takes to finish cs2d in the gold version.

First of all DC needs to focus on standard part of cs2d, because that is the part that brought us all together. No one expects mods after they download cs2d, they want counter strike.... in 2D. I'm guessing that DC forgot what was the main direction of this project

First of all we need updates for STANDARD Counter Strike 2D. What was the last update for us that improved anything or gave us smth new? As far as i remember the only (still minor things...) were smokeblock and specmode3. The rest was useless as f*ck. Nothing surprising that we lose people every year, how long do we have to wait? I'm not talking about instant-gold version, i'm just talking about major updates for standard 2d.

IMO, i think the kids who are playing is saving CS2D, but as their age goes by, they tend to look for new things. Some few are staying, like me. I started playing CS2D 5 years ago, just got back on feb and this is my first time seeing this game so inactive.

Well.. from my point of view, there three main reasons why people are leaving this game.
First of all, we must face the fact that times are changing really fast and 2D games become a rare thing, just like super mario game. Now each person has powerful computer to be able to play games like counter strike, gta games all all those battelfied/call of duty. 2D became boring and in overall not attractive.
Furthermore, as someone said before, this game became ruined by little kids and their noobish scripts/mods. All those minecraft, city life, happy town, kagbd2d zombies and many other servers are attracting people to their nonsense gaming and as a result, I strongly believe, that some part of all players usually decides to leave because they are pissed of..
Last bu not least, demand and supply takes a very important role in this situation. Since people are leaving server owners see no point of creating their own server. And because there is just a few servers with at least 15+ players daily online we decide to play this game more and more rarely.
Taking everything into account, we have only several choices. Doing a huge update that would change everything dramatically or create some kind of unique and absolutely new system.

counter strike 2d correctly has the 1.6 features in it so peoples probably prefer to play the 3d over the 2d ALSO DC isn't doing anything about that (to my watch) no new guns - no new NPCs - no new built in maps - no layout improvement

the last updates had almost NOTHING new (for gameplay of course) and I don't think changing the color of the weapon ability from yellow to green and red will do something about it

Than again - not hating - just rating
I love cs2d and im playing it for 2 years now and still does and hopfuly DC will at least add some cool features... cs2d is dying... I see less and less servers every day...
currect servers...: 106 - when I first played it was around 250 at least

currect servers WITH players: 37 << sad

I REALLY HOPE REALLY!! that DC will add something

no way to make this game active as before, competitive players are not going to play anymore, at least the 80%

No chances for creative servers,
They get attacked recently and later the owner will decide to shut down the server.
With all these reasons,Players are being decreased,
Even me , I cannot find a single player alive on my friendslist,
So i am also going inactive nowadays.

Still i remember the good old days of cs2d...

@user Yashukiller: My reply on what? You didn't write anything in this thread.

This thread is just the standard "OH MY GOD CS2D IS DYING DO SOMETHING"-thread which is posted every few weeks/months. You could search for my reactions.
