old A Really Old RTS Map Editor.

Don't ask me why but I wanted to dig around some of my really old files, which is around 2008 or 2009 if I remember correctly. Then, I managed to find my IBM laptop (from 2009-10) and opened it. It has my old files and everything. It even has a beta version of CS2D but that's not why I am here for.

I found an RTS editor (which is for Command and Conquer: Generals & Zero Hour), which dates back from its original release from 2003. Now if you're a fan of Command and Conquer, you're not the only one.

The image below is what the editor looks like. It's so fucking old, there's no widescreen resolution but if I forced it to be 1280x800 (which is my MacBook resolution on the picture), the textures and objects becomes stretched. The maximum resolution is 1090x800 but it is not as widescreen as my MacBook.

This piece of software dating back from 2003 feels like an artifact of RTS gaming. I had to fiddle around with it to create my own map and it's fucking glorious.

Here's the in-game screencaps of what I made:

boi look at that chokepoint on the top left

The maps made in the editor can be also used as "shellmaps". These shellmaps are maps that play on the game's main menu screen.

Well that's all for now. It's still pretty cool to dig up what was released years before.

Didn't you look closely? Mine was inspired by the on Generals you fuck. Also, my map is for Zero Hour's. Why is that every single people cannot appreciate your work these days? Bastards.

The one on the left is mine. The one on the right is EA's. Also, both of the windows are different editors. There's one built for Generals, which is the original, and the other one which is made for the expansion pack, Zero Hour.

Also, these are the scripts for both the windows. The one on the left is EA's and mine's on the right. As you can see, there's a SHIT ton more on EA's part.

Lovely post

It is this strange retro-loving feeling when you dig up very old files of yours. Or boot an old PC. I'd like to read more from anybody, because of reasons ^

@user xXL33tXx:, It's not necessarily an insult. I always hate it when people tries to ruin someone's work that is entirely inspired by something else that it looks similar. I gave my proof. I showed you the scripts, the original and my own work. What else do you need??

I want to play whatever that is didn't paid attention honestly

Still would play

Apparently, the WorldBuilder software is a beta software but it is included inside the directory of Generals/Zero Hour. EA Support doesn't cover this software, for some unknown reasons, but still, it's pretty neat.

Don't forget Rise of the Reds, Shockwave, Reborn, and many more. I love how the mods are still coming.

I have an older relative who has a CD copy of both the games but I doubt he still has it since it's been years since I met him.

There could be people selling copies in online stores as well or you could Torrent it somewhere. The IBM's USB socket isn't working and I can't copy my game from the old IBM to my newer laptop so I had to find a place to download a crack and get the WorldBuilder to run.

It's 2.45GB size if it's Generals with the expansion pack, Zero Hour.

EDIT: I found one on Amazon which costs $2.07.

@user xXL33tXx: Are you butthurt? You're not in charge here, kid. I gave you proof, every fucking thing, and you're going to give me this huge bullshit? Did my reply butthurted you? Is it because you're trying to take down someone because of how similar their work is to the original? Come on.

I won't be replying to any more of your comments. It's done. Your accusation of stolen content is invalid because I gave proof. You're not a hero, kid.

@user LonelyGrayWolfie: Even if what you say is true, you needn't say those words, really. Otherwise, you'd be the kid at people's eyes, not that guy. You could have said him like only "It's made by me." and I hardly hope that'd be enough.

Sorry 'bout that. It's my usual response to anyone trying to make me frustated. I've had tons of other people criticizing me like that because of my own work for different reasons. That's why I hate it when people don't look closely between my work and the original.

Plus, look at his last comment. It's quite annoying

@user LonelyGrayWolfie / @user xXL33tXx: Two wrongs don't make a right. If you guys have something in common or there's something wrong then use the PM function to discuss privately. What you're doing right now is destroying the thread content by filling with OT posts which violate the rules. Thank you.

You remove this or I tell EA and charge you with a fee and put you in jail for posting pirate stuff

Good luck with that. Give it up, nobody wants to give you attention.
