I have been absent from this community for a few years... and I noticed the drop in players and servers.
I recently finished some projects and one of them required a small VPS server, and the server has pretty much some time left before it goes bye-bye.

So I decided maybe why not host some free CS2D servers?

Anyone interested? Maybe some ideas on what to use the server for?

Recently, I had the same idea and then I remembered what was it like to host free servers in the past.

No need for that, there are more servers than players.

A good server can bring players and prevent others from leaving.

The conspiracy of which you don't need more servers than players is completely false and incorrect.

In fact, the amount of servers we currently have is able to give players a lot of variety!
Players don't have to stick to just Stranded servers, they have many modded servers to choose from and that would keep them motivated to play the game.

I can add more, but I hope my point is understood.
Please avoid sticking to the hype train that others have created and come up with your own reasons as to why more servers isn't a good idea.

it's actually a good idea, as there are many new players and even old players who want to have their own server, maybe to train or even play with some friends ...


If it were so waste of time and have the excuse that there are few players, you would not be paying for a VPS... If you think so, then you should shut down 2 of your 3 servers and shut your mouth :]


Completely agree, but the problem with mrc is afraid of losing the few players that he has on his server and then they will go to the free server
