Well, my map is nearing completion after a year of lazy off and on work. The map's features are:

•One huge island, with a few tiny islands within swimming range of the shore.

•Maximum map size, with the major island bordering all the edges of the world.

•Quests, shops, and a story.

•Every item and object in the game.

•Fully customized, no randomization in placing objects and items.

•Unique areas, map was created in sections, each section or "area" is unique from the others, using combinations of objects, items, terrain, and ground color.

•Created for massive mod, using all it's items for maximum creativity with quests.

•Tons of fishing and digging spots filled with rare items.

•the map contains no fresh water ponds or lakes, and no fountains. It only contains water rocks so players will have to have stock up on water before exploring. Wells will be useful with only water rocks as well.

That's all I can think of at the moment, I promise you it'll be good, I'm not just randomly placing objects over a huge map, I've spent time and effort into this map. I've also redone a few sections I didn't like because I really want this map to be good.

Again, those are really crappy screens and most of those areas don't even exist anymore. So yeah.

I'm thinking about: "The adventures of Danny Crane" And making it a series with at least 3 maps. I have a few other maps half finished that I could just add a story to.

hey howzit. Erm.... I need some help with mapmaking. Actually I'm combining several maps into one big storyline. I need some help in spawning units from a previous map when the savemap and loadmap functions are used. I thought of using the copychildren command to write to an external file which can be loaded into a unit again with the same ID/BEHAVIOUR... I just can't get my head around that one.

Anyone got any ideas writing to an external file???
