This is a very old easter egg. Sadly, there is no way to get rid of it.
you could overwrite the image file to match the background...
Well, shit happens.
A solution if this would one day be fixed somehow someway though. Wouldn't it be pretty good to make the eyes a image file that you could easily make that purple color in order to make it transparent so that a custom backdrop could display with problems? just a thought there. Don't know if this ever will be realised though.
