I'm using the updated google chrome and I removed extensions that will hinder my downloads and yet I am unable to download cs2d files from the website.

What exactly happens? I'm using Google Chrome as well and it works fine. Are all downloads from this site affected or is it only the CS2D download?

I tried downloading some CS2D maps and scripts, it did not work and I also tried Stranded files and carnage contest. I think it is something to do with the site. I asked a friend of mine to download one of the CS2D files but he said he could not download it. When I pressed the download button, the page just seemed to refresh by itself and no download was initiated.

That's strange as I'm using exactly the same browser. What operating system are you using? Did you try any other browser?

Do you have any file downloader or anti virus software which might block the downloads? Are you sure that none of your extensions causes trouble?

In case you are still having any extensions enabled: Please disable them all just to try and enable them again afterwards.

I tried everything and it did not work. My operating system is Windows 7. I tried Explorer and it did not work too.

What the hell... I can't help you then. This makes totally no sense. I have exactly the same configuration (Win 7 + Chrome) and it works.

You may try it with another computer if you have access to more than just one.

Is there anybody else who has an idea why it isn't working for him?

He can create a .bat file and run chrome via that. Should work. Not a total solution though.

Orrr, he is not aware of (ctrl + j), but I believe he is.

I also had some problems downloading cs2d on my server, it downloads a web page instead. I guess the unrealsoftware.de/get.php?cs2d.zip.............. have to be changed to something like unrealsoftware.de/cs2d.zip. Or at least put it there additionally.

The PHP page generates and provides the actual download file. It makes no sense that it works for one person and not for another person even though they are using exactly the same browser.

I just found out something. When I give my friend the link to download, he can't download it. However, I asked him to find the file himself. So after finding it he could download it. Weird.

The DIRECT download links (the ones you can obtain directly from the download button at the download page) are not for passing on. They are different for everyone. This is a hot-linking and download DDoS protection. They should still open the download page though (without starting the download directly).

Which leads to another assumption: user

Knifeline do you have an IP which changes all the time? Or are you behind a proxy or are you using any other stuff for anonymous surfing?

Actually, I don't really know, but for one thing sure is that my USGN website isn't blocked. So i'm not using proxy. Nor am I using incognito. And since I login successfully these few times and USGN did not alert me of IP change, I don't think is any of the above. But it could be that maybe i'm unknowingly using a proxy or something?

Visit http://www.unrealsoftware.de/usgn.php?s=ip and reload the page a few times. Does the displayed number change?

Very strange... maybe your ISP does that for some reason. I'll think about another way to protect the downloads then. Hm.

But it'll just make the operation slower, it takes 10seconds to load on my computer.
