Hi us users,
I got idea for cs2d , the idea is making a group in skype or any other conversation app , for cs2d players .
I already made a group in skype , add me to skype so i can add you , and the name of the group is Ministry Of CS2D.

∗ Whats the point of this ? ∗
• Once we got allot of members you can ask for help about cs2d or asking for scripts / sprites , etc..
• Also when we get good amount of players the answer of the help / quest could be done faster.

∗ Rules of the group ∗
• Don't change the topic/photo of the group.
• Don't flood/insult.
• Don't disguise as another member.
• Don't ever use "call group" .
• Don't post photos OR memes.
• Use English Language in the group chat.

Best regards,
user Kirito2K

@user Kirito2K: It won't really work. It would probably end up in a load of spam the whole day and a question every week which will either get answered which is good or get ignored and lost in other replies.

@user Yates: We will find a solution for that once we get allot of members , i think in making more admins which will hang on the group while other admins are sleeping , making a cycle..

I don't see how this will be better than the current method of asking and answering questions.

On the website you already have cs2d: and cs2dlua: to link to documentation quickly. It's also more organized, a thread a question, whereas on skype it's just all jumbled together.

Also, for skype you have the problem of getting good moderation over the chat.

A chat can be a very good addition to a forum (it's important to understand that it's not a replacement). It can be faster to get help / find a solution and discussing things is also faster that way.

The major downside is that the answers will get lost more or less because nobody will ever scroll through an unorganized chat history. Also it's very easy to spam there so this might become a problem if nobody pays proper attention. Moreover discussing multiple different things in parallel would be chaotic.

It can work though and might be a nice addition so: Good luck √

Well yep , but skype is faster than opening the browser , it's just a app..
Can you elaborate please? Opening up skype is a lot slower than opening my browser (which usually is open all the time anyways)

Well that's assuming you have skype open all the time, which is pretty much reverse for me (I have my browser open 24/7).

I agree with DC in that it's good as like a quick Q&A, just ask questions that are too small for a thread, like:

> Can someone recommend me <a type of a script>
> Which hook is for when a building is destroyed?

Guided, these questions can easily be answered by searching, but we all know how much searching people do on forums...

@user ohaz: For me it's slower having to open http://webchat.quakenet.org/ and join #unrealsoftware.de every time I have a doubt. Unless user DC added a IRC section on the site.

I still don't like the idea of Skype anyways, because of the spam you get when you start it.

You could've just posted the join url like everyone else. Don't expect people to add a stranger to their contacts just so they can join the us.de skype group - which is not even always necessary, usually all you need is our skype name.

@user Starkkz: standalone IRC client? mIRC, XChat/Hexchat and many others. Browser addon? Chatzilla as an example.

user Kirito2K the idea is already dead. Especially with Skype chat being impractical anyway. The solution is there and it's over 20 years old: IRC. You surely will be surprised how many people use it.

@user VADemon: Why would I install a standalone IRC client if I enter to that channel once a month? It's a waste of memory.

It would be much spam nd players would leave that group due to spam. I have tried this for a other game.
