39 comments This is my second map, It's called de_drought. It's a bomb defusal map.
Story: This map was set on a middle eastern town, there was a drought on the town, the town's people's only hope are the Oasis and the Garden. But some Terrorists are planning to destroy both of them, and the U.S. Navy S.E.A.L.s are called.
Objectives.
Terrorists: Defeat the Counter Terrorists or plant the on a bomb spot.
Counter Terrorists: Defeat the Terrorists or prevent the Terrorists to plant the bomb.
Other notes: There are 2 bomb spots on this mission

No, I just put the buildings on random spots because I'm too lazy to do it a bit longer and improve it. Thanks, my new map's coming, it's dom.

MPiece: I actually like the way he shaded the houses. it's like a sunset mood. Good-job, the game-play could be better though..


What's wrong with an old file? Doesn't really say anything about the quality of the work itself. Only small downside is I really hate downloading maps with lots of files to put in now, such a hassle sometimes.
hmm.. k i tested. Layout needs improvement, but I guess that's just cause I look at all de_ or cs_ maps with an intent to play tactically in it. Lots of open space and everything is so boxed in. Terrorists would die before they even got a chance to plant the bomb.
Looks nice, good use of tiles at times but inconsistent with some odd look to it at times.

Seal team pls if you are gona update the map change the tiles used for the buildings/walls.

Lag Seeing: Yeah I know, the T spawn is too close to the Bomb site B, I might make de_drought2 thanks for the reply.


Dude when i played that map after i spawned and bought my weapons , the T's planted the bomb...

Time: What you said is true yeah, I'm determined to make this map because of you, thanks. I've found that making maps is more fun than skinning, I'm planning to make de_drought2, better map, better bomb spot and better story.

Gameplay- not suitable for a bomb defuse map, loads of open spaces and little room for the players to dodge while in the trenches. The bombspots are way too open to be properly defended.
If you modify it a little, filling the open spaces with walls for cover and maybe adding symmetry this map would definitively make a great deathmatch arena.
Graphics- Just awesome the tiles you chose go along with each other and the shadows make me think of a yellowish sunset. It has a warm, pleasant feeling to it and therefore it's a success. More details (grass, all sorts of props) would do great, also the shadow sprite is of low res and so it has a has a rough, pixelled look at the edges.
I won't rate this map since, in my opinion, it's supposed to be a deathmatch map,.
