So, this threa is all about Role-playing maps in Cs2D.

I own one role-play map named Team Moneyz Rp-map 09, its been quite popular and lots of people have liked it, mostly because it is very big and changing.

By the way, what i mean with Role-playing map is not like *walking to bakery* "hello, give me a bread"
What i mean is, that players play in big city-like map or wherever you want, and now, when we have lua scripts, we may choose from lots of different classes and we can even make lottery-like things, time, houses, everything rprealted, think about the possibilities! and shooting allowed ofcourse

So, this time i want YOU to tell your opinion about Role-playing maps in Cs2D.

how do you like the idea?

What should Role-playing maps include.

What should they never have?

What is a good rp-map/server like?

You can make your own answers ofcourse, that was just some help

Oh, i am very pleased if you would post to link to your own roleplaing maps (screenshots) if you have one.

Yeah, I like to play RP mas! They're GREAT!

It should be a "rp_" and a "pb_" maptypes!
rp_ = Roleplay Map
pb_ = Prison Break (best eveeer)

Its kinda hard to make a "perfect" roleplaying map, if you want to make it good, you need lots of lua-scripts and time.
Although, if you want to make it interesting, you need lots of stuff in your map which will cause lag, and if you want less lag with more objects you must buy dedicated server-thing.

But, how do you know if some map is roleplaying map? lets say that map has no name, so how can you say that it is supposed to be rp-map? what should it include or what should it NOT have?

I was lazy at first too, but i just started to make 50x50 map first.

Then i hosted it for a while, till i got bored to it.
I update and updated, then i realized that 50x50 is quite small, actually VERY small, so i made 100x100.

I made teleporting-buildings,shops,cafes,base-bases, service-buildings, info-centers and everythiing else.

Now i got no-lag 200x200 map which has evertyhing i ever wanted, and its easy to host,play and update now.

I only have to add few things over here, couple of items over there, maybe some tilachanges, buildings...houses, everything i want.

Just start your own Role-Playing-project someday, you wont regret what you ill accomplish!

Roleplaying in CS2D makes no sense! Isn't the game made for fighting?

After a frustrating day at school it used to be GREAT to switch on your computer and play CS2D for a while, killing others with shotguns or AK's.
But now these LUA scripts are there all people go to those idiot RP and PB and DD and GG and whatever's left maps.
If you wanna play RPG's please play RPG's and not CS2D!!!

Don't you think there was a reason I quit playing Runescape a long time ago? I wanted something else then RolePlaying! So I started playing other games and eventually CS2D, happy to finally play a game which had nothing to do with RolePlaying.

BUT NOW IT'S BACK! THE MASS HYSTERIA HAS HIT CS2D!

What should I play now?
Anyone knows a game which has nothing to do with RolePlaying?

there are still some servers which are not flooded by such scripts. just activate the lua script filter

If you dont like role play why do you bother of talking about it? what are we suppose to do now? Stop all the role playing servers becouse of you? go insane and start telling everyone not to play cs2d role play maps? if you dont like theme the dont play them! most people like role playing maps! i myself do also!

p.s. activate the script filter? how?

Find Servers : Filters -> uses Lua Scripts: Yes or No , just how you like it

People host RolePlaying maps instead of other maps, which means less other maps are being hosted, which means there are less servers in which I can just play the good old CS2D maps.

And I don't have anything against LUA scripts, cause they are also used in, like, the normal TGV dust servers. So I ain't gonna filter them out, cause that will mean there are even less normal maps to play. I just don't like the RolePlaying, as I said in my previous post.

And by the way, this wasn't meant to insult any of you, I just wanted to say I don't like the role playing

I had this idea long time ago... I am currently working on a map called rpg_woody with custom tileset and lua scripts.

The rpg map should have:
Custom tileset
It should be huge
Villages, Villagers, enemies
Good enviroment
Years, Gold, Coins, Mana, Skill points...
The king
Lots of triggers, dialogues

Ok because I'm in a good mood since it's a holiday for me (

Respect for those who take the effort to create such huge maps and succeed in creating all the LUA scripts for it. It's just that you need SO MANY players for it to be nice AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ENOUGH PEOPLE IN ONE MAP for roleplaying to be fun. Besides, so many people and LUA scripts will cause heavy lags, so no RolePlaying for me. Just enjoy your lagging and keep on making these beautiful maps (no really I mean it, it's good to see people make such a great effort for a free online game (which is great)), but I'll never like it, cause I think it's just too BIG to be fun.

And I don't wanna spoil your fun, so keep on playing!

id love that idea!
like being a custom class and killing enemys, some enemys being stronger, getting experience and lvling up

i have already started on working on a Roleplay mod for cs2d
but it takes much time.

i like the idea.

well il played roleplay mods in some othere games and it worked perfectly

they should include enought houses,places where to work,discos etc

enemies,weapons that every dumb can reach(best is only in polce station etc)

its a MUST to have a perfectly working Lua script because only with the editor you cant do cool things
there MUST be 20+ slots and top pings
there MUST be good Admins and MUCH of them (about 10 in other timezones one in amerika on eurpoe one in russia to have all time admins on server)

What kind of things people wants that we make with lua?

Here is my suggestions:

-First of all, i personally like futuristic rp, not medieval-like rp

But i would like these in rp map:

-Time script --> hh:mm & yyyy (Year changes every 10minutes, hours change every minute and minutes change every second, like in gta.[And for more game-fun, i would suggest that every year which is paired-number, extra places will be open, an every year with non-paired number should those extra places be closed.

-Inventory-script : You have 5 slots for example
1.home-key
2.first-aid-kit
3.security card
4.Fish of somekind
5.Hammer

And now, when you type /inv it`ll show you what items you got.
and for example, to get past a rock, you must stand near it and type /invuse Hammer and it will smash the rock, you can imagine other things to other items.

-Class-script
1.Police --M1A4,machete,flashbang,grenade,smoke,elite,armor
2.Medic --heal-gun,knife,usp,flare
3.Robber --ump,deagle,lightarmor,etc
4.Civilian --knife, tmp
5.Worker --wrench,flare,kevlar helm
6.Peacekeeper --xxx,xxx,xx,xxx
7.builder --xxx,xxxx,xxxxx,xxxx
8.etc

So, it could also include special commands for special classes, for example police "/jail (id) (reason)"

And for example if you are robber, you could go to shop and type /holdup to rob it.

And if we talk about in-game cash, if you got 2000 it will be very much, so actually it takes lots lots lots of time to get even 5000 money, and you could only get items by finding them, killing people or buying.

But inorder to make money hard-to-get, you must also decrease prie of buildings and put destruction-money to 5 for example.
