Please help discuss & recommend ideas for a full Half Life mod im thinking about. I have in mind using the CS2D engine for a complete Half Life standalone with both campaign n multiplayer deathmatch. Although my version will be a bit more realistic in the weapons department so im thinking more of something like HL Source HD Mod. It will have 2 main teams both Black Mesa survivors & USMC Hazardous Materials Combat Team. A Third team will consist of the Xen aliens IE Vortigons, grunts, Exc. Neutral Bot monsters will also exist but will not be playable IE head-crabs, bull-squids, & zombies. I can make skins but im an idiot when it comes to scripts & what not
Feel free to add any ideas. can you make a campaign with lvl teleporter i mean you finish the first stage on this campaign you go to the exit then comes next map <---- i think stage 2 ! this is a good idea ; )

sorry for my bad english i hope u can understand it! a standalone game? only possible by editing the old source code. Sounds cool, maybe some "pros" in gamemaking would make a complete new game called HL2D:), or those who made CS2D?
I was thinking about the source code but that would b some what time consuming & i want CS2D players to easily play HL2D but then again a indie game has many advantages. also im liking the level transported for the stages & chapter transitions. My original idea (if the game would b a mod) is a map pack listed in order that you could swap out with your old maps to play a complete single player campaign. However this would require custom tile sets & the player would have to save all their old original maps. I'm also making skins with HL sfx & so far i have a HK MP-5A3/M-203 finished & soon i will post it here & on FPSbanana.com My version will be like HL HD mod in that all the original weapons will be included as well as more realistic new weapons that block ops & USMC would have. The flame thrower will have to be modified to fire a beam like the Gluon gun. I will also like to make a new ammo system with different ammo for each gun. I'm also toying with the idea of modifying the scope to each be different depending on the gun as well as allowing the player to look beyond the normal radius view of the player IE U can snipe from a much farther distance. Seriously, it will be good stuff considering CS2D. And for once, please make the shotgun not-overpowered for a change. Maybe counteract it with less ammo/level, or just plain delay its introduction somehow. And the crossbow is guaranteed to be OP when projectiles keep traveling past your radius of sight and kill whatever's there. what in the fuck? that was not my clan, i made l4d clan not hl clan. slow down and look down whats under mine comment....... im creating HL2D....in cs2d....

Eh all ish fine n all but ive decided to make a complete stand alone game & only using CS2D as a starting point. All in all its my opinion that CS2D by it self is inadequate for what im planing on. I say go ahead with your mod & if you need any high detail weapons/player skins im happy to help. Im going to check thos monsters you were talking about.
Now a little bit of info on how I want to make HL2D. For starters there will be more animations in players & monsters for starters. Each player & monster will also have its own legs instead of a universal black set like in CS2D. There will also be vehicles that move smoothly & the player is capable of riding on then (IE HD trams, trains, fright cars, Abrams tanks, Bradly APCs, Cars, Exc.). Players will be able to both jump & crouch & this will be most difficult to do with out any major bugs. when the player jumps they will be able to jump on top on obstacles & from obstacles jump on to walls. Too keep players from jumping over walls into areas they they shouldn't there will be new high wall tiles & dynamic wall options. These walls are more or less like CS2D walls but with a slightly larger shadow & players will not be able to jump over them. When a player crouches behind a obstacle it will protect them from direct weapon fire IE bullets, lasers, gluon gun, Gauss gun, shock roach, Exc. However the player is vulnerable to grenades, explosives, & any other weapon that is fired at an angle that could go over the obstacle IE a grenade launcher can still damage or kill whatever is behind a sandbag wall for example. human grunts will have night-vision & BM security & HEV players will have a flashlight. As I said before player will be able to see beyond their normal area when they have a crossbow or sniper rifle. To understand what I mean go to stickpage.com & look up stick strike in games. play it & use the sniper rifle & u will be able to see how u can zoom in while sniping from a distance. As for the shotgun it will be a SPAS-12 like in the HL HD mod however it will have 7 rounds per mag & will have 2 modes of fire (Both pump action & semi auto). Ill try my best to balance its damage so its not a cheap boom stick like in CS2D. Also the SPAS will not be the only shotgun. The USMC grunts will be using Beneli M-1014s & Mossberg 590A1s. only BM security NPCs will be using the SPAS since its not used by the Marine Corps nor any other US military forces as far as I know. edited 2×, last 18.03.10 01:32:11 am

This isnt the sort of thing you can do in a few days you know. yeh, just like what i said, now NTD gave permission, i've got question for this:
you sure you can do this? Hell yea im willing to do this im determined as well as a fast learner. Although if any programmers out there are willing to help me then they are more than welcome to. Currently im not working on the project since I have SATs coming up >>

It My 1st skin Ive posted anywhere but its certainly not the 1st ive made. Im currently working on a larger & more detailed buy menu pic. As you can see im very picky about details & I try to add as much as possible. It also based of the MP5 from the movie end of days. Since I want my game to be realistic i chose not to make it gray like in the original HL. I will however make a gray version if some one requests it BTW im sorry about the fact I have no in game pics since im currently using a different skin for my MP5 (My own made Killzone Helghast rifle btw

Check this out: Half-Life 2D and see what we created already! Dude NTD ive seen what u have n I cant lie its good but what im making is no longer going to be a CS2D mod. the CS2D engine in its current form is not capable of what im envisioning. If I do make my version with CS2D engine than i will have to heavily modify it & more or less make a new game from scratch. In other words it wont be compatible with CS2D. Also your mod is based off of the original HL which is fine but my version is intended for realism. I will have way more weapons than the original HL weapons had for starters. I dont care if u keep working on your mod I'm not stopping you & chances are your mod will be finished & completed long before I ever post a beta of my game since I have many other projects on my to do list. So dont complain your mod is & will be know as the 1st HL2D mod. Once again my game will be different from the original HL as my focus is on realism. Also since your are making the original HL I would like to ask permission to help if possible. I like what you have made so far. By the way HL2D is not the name im using for my game so there will be no confusion.
